Special offer on horoscopes for new Taurus clients. See below on your sign for details. For All Signs (weekly changes): Venus, goddess of love, is retrograding from now
through June. Many of us will be
pressured to encounter ourselves and our personal behavior within the framework
of our relationships. Those in shaky
attachments may withdraw altogether.
Dormant issues may resurface for attention. We have a tendency to "go back" to
previous relationships or to re-experience former behavior patterns in the
present situation. During Venus'
retrograding periods we are called to wake up to any unconscious saboteurs that
interfere with our ability to love. It's
time to upgrade our relationship performance. See Weekly Sun Sign paragraphs on the "weekly" page.
New! (Apr 18, 2012) It is definitely worthy of note that Iran has been engaged in important meetings about nuclear energy with the P5 + 1. This includes Russia, China, France, Britain, the US, and Germany. This is the third of a series and Turkey was the host. However, this time Iran refused to speak to the US, in spite of several requests from the US to attend. I can't imagine why not, given our treatment of Iran over the years, up to and including now. It has become a newly accepted truth in Europe that Iran does not have nuclear power geared to the military, but only for civilian purposes. We have forced Iran into this with our sanctions over nuclear "weapons" and we will be paying for this soon. Additional talks are scheduled the end of May and Iran calls for the western nations to drop their sanctions before that time. One must wonder if the real reason behind the sanctions has more to do with access to oil than claims of nuclear weaponry. ( My information comes via www.pressTV.com I found it on the English speaking Iranian channel. However, I did not find the same information echoed by BBC, or even on the Press TV English channel. HMmmmmmm...........) New! (Mar 14, 2012) On
Mar. 9, Greece effectively moved into default, though that word is not
being used. The latest plan to "save" the country's financial
situation via a debt swap failed. Therefore Greece had to
activate what is called "CAC's", Collective Action Clauses.
This is likely the beginning of what will become a series of tumbling
defaults. Buy precious metals on pullbacks. Buy the real thing, not paper.
New! (Mar 5, 2012) I hope all the females who read this column are paying attention to the outrageous bills being slipped through Congress at both federal and state levels. Join NARAL.org to get emails about what is being said about all of us Venus types. The only protection we have is to make a loud noise (via e-mails, TC's) of complaint. Some of the bad bills have been withdrawn because of our noise. The individual states are also passing bills and laws that are anti-choice. Join the other women in this country and fight it. You may not want to take the far right seriously, but they are doing major damage to the freedom of women in this country. New! (Feb 8, 2012) Unfortunately, it appears to me at this time that our elected leaders are refusing to deal with the elephant in the living room. They want to talk about abortion rights, whether insurance should pay for birth control, and spend countless hours questioning whether or not gay people should have rights. The extremist energy seems to want to recreate the 1950’s, when only WASPS (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestants) had hope for making progress in this country. Major issues related to the US Federal debt are tossed around like a hot potato, while legislation is presented concerning birth control, of all things. That one was put to bed a long time ago. It’s a straw man. However, it stirs people up and keeps us from noticing that our leaders are unable to do their jobs. Do not allow your civil rights to be dismantled. New! (Feb 1, 2012) The SOPA bill and its counterpart, PIPA were defeated last week after a major cry from the public, along with important assistance from Google and Wikipedia. The bills were intended to protect the copyright law, but they were written so broadly that almost anyone could make an accusation and the website owner would be "convicted" and blocked from internet access. Guilty unless proven innocent. Certainly there will be another bill to replace them, but hopefully it will be written more clearly to allow room for innocence. I am delighted that the public still has something to say that Congress will hear. (Of course it took the assistance of mighty corporations....hmmmm.) New! (Jan. 25, 2012) I am thrilled to note that there are finally people on the bandwagon to repeal the Citizens United ruling of the Supreme Court from two years ago. It was clear from the beginning where that would lead. I just hope they are able to accomplish this monumental task ASAP. Otherwise the corporate bodies, otherwise thought of as people with 1st Amendment rights, can buy the election and thus the subsequent legislation. For details, see below on the comment from 2-8-10 for the history behind this major constitutional threat. To sign on see http://www.dscc.org "Class Wars" are in full swing in this country. (See "Class Wars" below.) There is considerable pressure to maintain non-violent positions and for that we can be grateful. However, I am uncomfortable because we are only at the very beginning of the Class Wars. The saga will continue through 2015, if not beyond. Please note the paragraph below on the subject of revolutions. The Powers that Be are becoming increasingly less related to the people and this is what ultimately causes violence. (8-22-11) Solar Storms: We are approaching the peak in solar storms predicted in 2013. The sun has an 11 year sunspot cycle which ranges from relatively quiet to fairly wild. Now that it is 2011 the flares are becoming more frequent. A flare is a burst of energy that lasts a few minutes. Greater than flares are coronal mass ejections which are enormous explosions of gas and magnetic energy that require several hours and blow drastically beyond the normal corona. According to NASA, at solar minimum we average one coronal mass ejection per week. At maximum (2013) there are likely 2-3 per day. Here are a few factoids about solar flares and CME's. They emit radio waves, x-rays, and gamma rays. The CME's can do tremendous damage to our planet's complicated systems of satellites, radios, GPS systems, phone networks and power grids. NASA is concentrating on how to predict these episodes and where they might reach our atmosphere. The idea is that if they know where a flare will hit, they can essentially turn off the power grid temporarily so it won't be damaged. For more info see: http://solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov/CMEs.shtml Although there seems nothing "scientific" reported on the storms' effect on people, I look around at the world right now and think we are struggling with the fallout of the flares earlier in Aug. Wall Street panics, uprisings, and the barrage of crimes occurring in the UK suggest to me that there is something bigger than simple planetary motion at work. We are always the targets of radiation from our sun. I think of it as something like low level static to which we are accustomed. But a flare turns up the volume of that static and many people react to the intolerable level of "noise". Given that so many are on edge after 3 years of "recession", this is poor timing indeed. Cancer (June 21--July 21): Your interests may be on “hold” this week due to a sense of obligation to an organization or to a friend. This is one of those “damned if you do” and “damned if you don’t” types of situations in which you sacrifice or you will feel guilty. Don’t go overboard or you might become subject to illness. Leo (July 21--Aug 22): You have your eye on the big picture and it looks grand indeed. A word of caution: your optimistic attitude and belief that you are right could cause you to become arrogant. If you want others to join your ride, give them a special place on the wagon. Share the glory. Virgo (Aug. 22--Sep. 22): Any activities concerning legal matters, education, publishing, travel, and the internet are favored. This is a really good time for communications with children and/or lovers. You now have an opening to say what has been on your mind for several months. Others may be more open to “hearing” it now.
Scorpio
(Oct. 23--Nov. 21): Capricorn (Dec. 21--Jan. 19): You have multiple challenging aspects this week. Forward motion is stymied on several fronts. This may be a good time to kick back and go with the flow. Working alone is probably a good option because the circumstances around you are not in sync. Aquarius (Jan. 20--Feb. 17) : This is a challenging week. It seems that everything you want to do has the word “wait” tied to it. You can’t move forward on this because you have to wait for that. You are missing some of the parts to your plan and must be still. This condition is temporary. Pisces (Feb. 18--Mar. 19): This is a fine time to enjoy books and/or TV, meditate and journal. Give yourself time for self-exploration and even just "diddling around" and relaxing. Your dreams are meaningful and your intuition strong. It is a fine time to go on a short trip for some R&R.
